Transfers

Another Transfer has passed and we have survived. This transfer was harder for us as our President and Sister Pugh were not here. It all started with the Assistants and Elder Smith going to Easton on Friday to close an apartment and move the Missionariy's into a members home. Sunday we went to Church as usual at New Bloomfield and then rush back to the Stake Center to pick up the departing missionaries and take them to the Mission Home for a dinner and preparation time for the departing fireside. At 6 we loaded them into our vehicles, all 11 of them, and headed to the Stake Center where the departing missionary fireside was held. It is so fun to listen to their testimonies and to see how they have developed into wonderful young men. We got to our apartment about 10:30 for a few hours of sleep before taking the departing missionaries to the airport at 3:45 AM. Back to our apartment for an hour of sleep then on to the office for some work and to the Stake Center for the transfer meeting. The new incoming missionaries were arrived at the airport at 4:30 PM and they were taken to the Mission Home. Sister Smith and I met with them at 7:30 PM for orientation. We got home about 9:30 PM. Tuesday Morning we met with them at the Mission Home for breakfast and then to the Stake Center where they met their new companions, had pictures taken, gathered their luggage, boxes, and bikes and headed to their new areas. Elder and Sister Smith went back to the office for a few hours of work and home at last totally exausted. We were sad to see the 11 leave but were happy to welcome the 8 new. The rest of this week was spent moving beds and furniture around the mission where they were needed and boxing up 7 bikes and sending them home along with the normal day to day work.
